An Homage to Mike Croteau

would be the word most people use to describe Santa Cruz shaper and surfer Mike Croteau. He was a big man and a big personality that left a mark on the surf world. He was known as an innovative shaper that was trying new techniques and thinking outside the box for his time. Early on in my shaping career I was fortunate enough to meet Mike on a few occasions. Recently a friend brought me one of his boards, a single fin from the early 80’s. The board pictured here was my attempt at replicating Mikes shape. Mike always put targets on his boards, I wanted to pay homage to Mike by keeping with the target motif while adding a bit of my personal touch.
